During our last stay in Sicily, we were able to start setting up the “Digital Classroom” at Centro Astalli Catania. In advance we bought ten laptops including laptop bags, a printer including ink cartridges, a screen and the appropriate MS Office licenses. For this, we were able to use the funding that we won at the Google Impact Challenge in 2018. On Wednesday and Thursday, we were then able to set up the laptops at Centro Astalli. The “Digital Classroom” will be used for Italian and computer science courses in the future. With this high investment, we provide the basis for digital media education, which can be a cornerstone for a professional independence of people with refugee background.
